VISION CULTURE LECTURES
 
The Vision Culture Lectures represent an innovative community initiative to have exceptional talents present and discuss their topics of expertise at lectures and workshops in Malaysia. The Series , beginning in January 2010, promotes regular international cultural exchange and discourse, seeking to inform and engage local audiences on a variety of multi- disciplinary topics , presented by international experts


 
 


Participation in the program is by invitation or through application.


Application Procedure:


Applicants should submit (at any time) the following materials:

1. Proposed topic and one paragraph explanation on its relevance to art practice.
2. Dates of travel to/in Malaysia. (Dates in Malaysia should preferably be at least two months after date of application submission).
3. Resumé.
4. Funding requirements, if any.


Applications will be reviewed by the selection panel and the applicant informed of status within one month. We are currently entertaining requests for VC Lectures for the second half of 2010 as the schedule for the first half is complete.

Topics should be relevant to art practises, and include -

Art practice (Fine Art & Craft)
Museums/Curatorial specialties
Art Review & Criticism
Art History
Architecture
Design
Environment
Sociology


Funding:


Partial or full funding can be applied for. SGFA will provide presentation facilities, accommodation, and organize a suitable schedule in consultation with the VC Fellow.


General Structure of Program:


Each lecture/discussion segment will be presented over 1- 4 days at the Gallery premises, with related workshops and discussions . The Gallery is also pleased to assist in travel arrangements around Malaysia.

After completion of the program, VC Fellows can list on the Gallery website: bio-data and lecture content for easy and broader access to and resource for, local and international audiences.
