NASIR BAHARUDDIN (b.1960 Malaysia)
Baharuddin's work investigates minimalist form in a cultural context by applying signs as distinct shapes and points, and presents the language of visual systems and content using his geometrical rules and methodologies. Etiologically, the visual representations are derived from a schematic nature, object order, and from a system of visual phenomena.
By structuring natural living systems through line and measurement, the resultant language itself invites exploration. This exploration relates to the theory of living systems in which, generally stated, human and natural systems integrate. Specifically in his work, this theory is adapted to regional cultural representations, e.g. methodologies based on traditional systems such as weaving and language.
