Shalini Ganendra Projects (the ‘Advisory’)  has developed a portfolio of inter-disciplinary projects over a period of nearly three decades. These programmes have brought focus to under-researched topics and regions, to powerfully promote the ‘culture of encounter’.

Expertise

With extensive international, multi-disciplinary expertise, the Advisory provides guidance tailored to each project, whether for public, private or institutional collections or city wide and non-profit platforms, appreciating the need for identity and narrative to success.

Culture of Encounter

The Advisory remit has focussed on developing a ‘culture of encounter’ through local programming (exhibition, education, residencies) which offer local and global enrichment. The Advisory’s brainchild,  Gallery Weekend Kuala Lumpur, launched in 2016 to further engage with cultural stakeholders to grow the encounter in a city-wide marquee. The Advisory’s organizational objectives and philosophy support regional creators and commentators in the propagation and recognition of contemporary, “vernacular” languages and practices. Scholarship is a vital component of this encounter.

Practice and Appreciation

With extensive and practical experience that informs  research, scholarship and distinctive programming,  the Advisory continues to grow transnational and multi-disciplinary engagement and expertise.
